Bad Knee? No problem. How to train with Injuries

Have you ever slipped and fallen and busted your knee? I think we all have at some point....It’s achy and bruised and it’s harder to get around.

RICE is often times the treatment protocol needed. Rest, Ice, Compression, Elevation.   Can you still workout though? Yes, you can.

I often times put someone with a bad knee in one spot for the entire session. No getting up and down or moving around. I love floor workouts for bad knees! In my ‘Training with Injuries’ posts, I have one of my clients on the ground the entire session getting a killer workout with bands and two dumbbells. No gym needed. You can do simple workouts anywhere.

Focus on what you CAN do not what you can’t.

Here’s the thing: with injury comes a minor type of depression, pain and discomfort.....and exercise is the best medicine to feel better.  Get those endorphins going and feel in control of your situation. You are in charge. A little injury isn’t gonna stop you from staying in shape.

Focus on what you can do! You can always workout. Busted knee: do a seated battle rope workout or a standing wall ball routine. I love showing ways around injuries. There are sooo many ways to train regardless what your issue is and you will ALWAYS feel better after.

Trust me, I’ve been there myself many times.
